Connectivity to the Internet is essential for all businesses

From providing remote access to services within the office to ensuring connectivity to critical cloud based services such as VoIP. In recent months we've seen our customers focus an emphasis on service levels and guaranteed bandwidth.

The connectivity market is ever evolving with superfast, ultrafast, fibre services being spoke about regularly in the media. But exactly what are they? We are able to assist and advise based on not only the requirements of your company, but also with the technology available within your local area(s) and what equipment you'll need.

Choosing the right business broadband

Broadband technology is an entry into connectivity and ideal for SOHO (Small Office / Home Office) deployments or smaller offices where Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) aren’t as important.

With download speeds on these services ranging from 1Mbps through to 330Mbps, speeds do vary depending on the technology available and the distance you are from the closest street side cabinet (the little green box alongside the road).

Business broadband is affordable and there is often a good business broadband deal available through us, talktalk business, BT internet, Virgin or other providers and normally contract length of 12-24 months.

There is a wide variety of business broadband packages available in the UK, Zenzero are able to provide advice on what will be best for your business by calling our customer support team.

  • Broadband Technologies

Broadband technology provides an asynchronous connection to the internet (differing download and upload speeds) and typically is provided via a copper phone line.

Newer broadband technology will use Fibre to the Premise (FTTP) and remove the need for a traditional analogue phone line.

  • ADSL

Traditional Broadband is delivered over a copper network and delivering an average download speed of 10Mbps and average upload speed of 1Mbps, the service available to you is dependent on the length of your phone line.

  • FTTC Superfast broadband (Fibre to the Cabinet)

Providing superfast broadband via Fibre optic cables delivered to the street side cabinets, allows for broadband speed of 80Mbps download and 20Mbps upload.

This is common place across the UK but is dependent on infrastructure available, but also the distance to the street side cabinet. It can be a postcode lottery.

  • G.Fast Ultrafast broadband

The latest broadband technology provides speeds of up to 330Mbps download and 50Mbps upload over a traditional FTTC connection.

This is made possible through additional infrastructure being built within the street side infrastructure providing a fast home broadband or business broadband connection.

This is being rolled out throughout the UK where it will improve business broadband and home broadband boasting great internet speed.

  • FTTP Ultrafast broadband (Fibre to the Premise)

Following Openreach’s “Fibre first” principal, FTTP is delivered over a full fibre optic cable which is delivered to the premise.

FTTP currently provides options ranging up to download speeds of 330Mbps and upload speeds of 50MBps. Fibre optic technology produces high broadband speed for its users.

All of our business broadband options are provided unlimited, and in certain areas can be provided without the need for a dedicated phone line removing the need for phone line rental.

The contract length of FTTP can vary so please get in touch for the very best business broadband deals.

  • Benefits of upgrading to our connectivity services

  • Business Grade Connectivity

With reliance on the internet, businesses are looking to make a step up from business broadband services, wanting a more robust connection with some guarantees around availability.

Ethernet services (also known as Leased Lines) provide a dedicated route to the internet – with guaranteed symmetrical bandwidth - or a rock solid link between your offices and sites.

These services are also dedicated to business, meaning zero contention which ensures that you’ll always receive the bandwidth you expect.

  • Service Level Agreement account

A 100% SLA option, expert support and 4-hour engineering response helps to remove downtime concerns and should the worst happen, we can cover you with optional ADSL or 4G backup.

All of our Ethernet services are managed services, with routers provided, monitored and supported. Add to this our perimeter security solutions and your company can have a best of breed internet connection.

  • Ethernet over FTTC (EoFTTC)

Delivered over the FTTC, EoFTTC provides a cost effective entry to leased line technology, providing guaranteed, bandwidths of between 2Mbps and 20Mbps over Fibre Broadband (FTTC) connections.

These services can be quickly deployed and come with a Service Level Agreement and customer service contract.

Suitable for a smaller company or offices that require a step up from wireless network services.

  • Ethernet in the first mile (EFM)

Delivered over the Copper network, EFM provides synchronous connectivity with speeds available between 1Mbps and 35Mbps.

The service is provided via Copper pairs so provides an option for areas where there is no fibre infrastructure.

EFM can be deployed quickly and come with a Service Level agreement and customer service contract. Suitable for small to medium sized businesses or to add resilience to other services.

A new life with business grade connectivity

Say goodbye to phone lines with internet Voice and Video calls

The way that business and meet with colleagues, customers and a supplier is evolving and changing, with catalysts like COVID-19, the digital transformation and the ending of traditional voice services in 2025 where phone lines and services in the Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN) will be switched off and withdrawn from service.

Zenzero have a range of options available to meet your businesses requirements. Be this to get ready for the ISDN switch off in 2025 and replacing and ageing PBX (phone system) or to reap the benefit of the latest UCaaS (Unified Communication as a Service) technology, such as Microsoft Teams utilising VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) for phone calls and video calls, we are here to listen and advise on the right strategy for your company with minimal setup costs and varying support contract lengths. We can help you take into consideration whether you need to utilise a phone line at all.

Why is this important?

Recent events has changed the way we communicate with a spike in usage of Video Conferencing tools like Microsoft Teams and more staff wanting to utilise VoIP phone services. Due to staff working remotely, we have seen a rise in video calls for team meetings or client meetings. Systems such as Microsoft Teams removes the need for checking for a phone number or having a phone line and provides seamless unified communication through instant messaging, calls and sharing files. It also integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook allowing communication to jump between Microsoft Teams and business email addresses in a unified way.

Microsoft Teams

Tools such as Microsoft Teams saw usage jump substantially during the global pandemic with some 75 million daily users mentioned by Microsoft CEA, Satya Nadella during an investor call, also stating that on it’s largest day, 200 million meeting participants on a single day, delivering billions of meeting minutes whilst employees work from their home offices, kitchen tables or elsewhere.

The way we work is changing, with many now realising the benefit of flexible working and businesses evaluating the viability of allowing staff to work in a more flexible manner. We are seeing a move away from a traditional landline to a mobile device and from a PC to laptops utilising VoIP, email addresses and other modern communication methods.

Broadband to suit Unified Communications

Changing the way the business works can be daunting, however, here at Zenzero we can help guide the journey to adopting Unified Communications and help you realise the benefits to this way of working.

These can include: -

• Reduced travel expenses

• Flexible working for staff

• Enabling businesses to find talent outside of their local area

• Collaborate within a single platform

• Ease of working with a supplier in any local

• Utilise meeting spaces more efficiently

• Efficiencies through consolidation of services
